It sometimes feels like that its difficult to keep up with everything in our daily life. The last weeks has been extremely busy for us as a family. Our first work related trip after Covid, went to Albania for Elise. She was the event manager for ACTs Together (Area Circle Team= YWAM leaders in whole of Europe). Her job was making sure everything was running smoothly and that people were able to do their assigned jobs well. We had on day together after she came home, before I, Martin, went to Georgia (East Europe), to learn more about how to train others in DMM (Discipleship Making Movement). Kaleb and Rebecka has started going to a international christian youth group on Fridays and this same group had a camp a few hours away from Athens. Kaleb (13) called us on the evening of when I was going to leave, and told us that he had decided to get baptised the next day. He had made up his mind and wanted to do it even though I could not be there. Elise drove up earlier on Sunday morning, so that she could participate. He was the first and the only in the youth group that wanted to get baptised, so we are thankful that he chose to do this by himself and not make his decision based on his friends. Arriving in Athens after 9 hours of travel on a Saturday morning, I was going to do my very first off road Triathlon-Xterra Greece. It has been a wonderful time with experiencing exciting and interesting things, both in Albania and Georgia. -And for Martin, participating in a Triathlon, All of this hectic weeks with high speed gave us a lot of adrenalin and even thought we didn’t feel that tired, we knew that this high speed wasn’t healthy in the long run. This week has been a bit more quiet, were we gave each other one day off from the family and responsibility. We are looking forward to the first week of November when we can slow down more. We strive for giving each other a day off once in a while, where we can just sit and let our spirit be renewed. We need to let ourselves be alone and be alone so we will not run with full speed at all times. Otherwise we run the risk of missing those moments where the Lord will whisper to us or we get to focus on the task that we miss precious moments with people around us. It takes time and it feels difficult in the beginning for me to slow down after been going high speed for a while. After a while I will find rest! We need to remember to take care of ourselves, as it is written in Proverbs 4:23: ”Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Guarding your heart, means guarding your thoughts and feelings. Therefore, think about how you feel and think about yourself and others around you. Is it time to slow down and listen in more carefully what God is saying about yourself and others around you? YES! Kaleb decided that he wanted to follow Jesus and be baptised! Please pray for him that he can be a role model for many youths. Finished the race!
