Our youngest son Eliah has started first grade!! We are entering a new season as a family as the kids are getting bigger! Eliah was very excited to start and now he is just wanting to have some homework as his older siblings have (I wonder how long that will last). The start was literally very blessed! The priest was there to bless the children by dipping an olive branch in holy water and splashing it on the children. We thought this was a strange tradition the first year we were here, but as we got to know the culture and the orthodox church a little more we are just thankful that they still want to keep the christian traditions also in the public schools. Knowing also that the trend in many other European countries is to prohibit everything that is too christian in the public schools. Even if many greeks don’t seem to care about the christian life, they still want to keep the country as an orthodox country.
We just received two new people in our team, a lady from Sweden and a man from Canada. Before they join our staff for a longer time we give them 3 months to see wether this is a good fit or not for them and us. During this time they will be in our meetings, spending time together with us, sharing dreams and visions, meeting people and ministries in the city as they prayerfully consider staying with us longer time! Our first DTS has now started! It will run in Denmark until the 26th of October and then move here to Athens! We have 10 students from Europe and America. Our goal is to have this school as a start for our training center that want to develop more and more for people with all kinds of backgrounds (greeks, refugees etc). We are in the process of looking for a long term solution for the venue of the school. But we see that there is somebody who doesn’t want the school here as we keep having difficulties finding favourable landlords. We have been looking at several places but the landlords don’t want to rent them out to us. Please pray for this as we believe that God is for us (and then who can be against us!) We have tried to raise our support as we during the summer (and fall) were pretty low on our monthly support. We are VERY HAPPY to see that we have some new supporters that has joined us during this month and last month! Thank you for wanting to invest in God´s work here in Greece! We still looking for some more partners! We are also desperately needing a new car in the very near future. Our car now is a 2001 model and we feel every kilometer it runs is an extra bonus! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any thing you want to ask or share with us! Bless you!!!
